For the first time in 18 years Chamonix-Morzine Hockey Club will find themselves relegated to Division 1.
Having recently merged the two clubs have found the season so far, a particularly tough one having been defeated 8 times out of their last nine matches.
Last Tuesday saw the Pioneers take another blow against the Etoile Noire de Strasbourg. Already having lost to the Strasbourg team, The Pioneers had set out to prove they were a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, supporters saw the team take a 3 – 1 defeat, pushing the club down to 12th position in the Ligue Magnus and therefore into the relegation zone.
Although the club still have two remaining matches, one against Nice and another against Djion, there is nothing further the team can do to prevent the demotion.
Let’s hope they aren’t down for too long.
