Jekyll & Hyde

Excellent atmosphere, and the best pub food in Chamonix. Burgers are huge! Apres ski deals on food and drink, friendly staff, and always something going on. From live music to comedy nights, silent discos, and speed dating. You won't be disappointed. 

Snostation customers get a voucher for a free 1.5l pitcher of beer or a bottle of wine with any meal. Get your voucher on check in!

L’Omeletterie

Yes it does have a huge omelette menu! Also serves great quality Savoyard fayre, pizzas and seafood. Very reasonably priced. On the way into town from Cham Sud, over the green bridge and about 10 metres up on the right hand side.

Boccalate 

Good Savoyard fondu, raclette etc. Bit touristy but better quality in recent years. 

L’Impossible

Pricey but well rated. Fantastic old renovated building and very cosy. Top end Italian food, also specialising in vegetarian and vegan cuisine. Located next door to the Jekyll.

Fiesta Grande

Good kebabs! Just outside Cham Sud on way to town, opposite the green bridge.

Pizza Paradiso

Massive menu and massive pizzas to match. Just on the corner by the bridge into town.

 

Nightclubs

Le Garage

Europop and techno! Open til 5am. Instead of making a left to cross the bridge to town, take a right. It is on the left hand side of the road. Next to Technique Extreme.

Le Tof

Only for the brave. In Cham Sud Square, towards the Aiguille du Midi side.

 

Food shops

SPAR

Supermarket in the square – everything you need.

 

Pharmacy

There is a good one just opposite the Aiguille du Midi lift (opposite Golden Dragon Chinese restaurant).

 

Bakery

Good one just next to Technique Extreme, on the wat to the Aiguille du Midi. Also is a cafe, sells good sandwiches and an excellent terrace at the back with great Mont Blanc view.

 

Chamonix Town Centre

If you are staying in our apartments Blanc Neige, Armancette, Maison Rose, or Des Alpes you are in this area. The main pedestrian street running through town is called Rue Dr. Paccard.

Bars

Soulfood

Tiny and gets very busy but with good reason, great music and the two guys who own it do a great live set!

Mix Bar

Where the bankers hang out. London style bar with good cocktails and dance music. 

The Pub

Popular and blokey but always good fun. Probaby the worlds highest consumers of Fernet Branca! 

Chambre Neuf

Great apres-ski band. 2 4 1 on cocktails 8-10pm – near the train station – good lunch menu.

Bar’d Up

Cheap drinks après-ski – on Rue du Moulins which is just past the main square, take a right immediately after the restaurant ‘Irish Coffee’, down the cobbled street.

Munchies

For a food blow out - excellent fusion type menu French, Swedish and Asian influences. Not cheap but worth it. On Rue du Moulin. To get to there go past the square and take a right at Irish Coffee.

Le Petit Kitchen

Highly rated, owner run, and friendly little gastro cafe with great luch and evening menu. 

Caleche

Best for traditional Savoyard fare, ie fondue, raclette. Beautiful atmospheric interior. Good selection of set menus. Right on Rue Paccard opposite Midnight Express.

Tigre Tigre

The only decent curry to be found in Chamonix. Good but not cheap. 

Le Caveau

Takes last orders around 12pm, great pizzas, get the Garlic Mozzarella bread (but not not if you want to go anywhere other than bed afterwards!!) On the left of Chinese restaurant Chez Yang on Rue Paccard near the square. Small entrance, go down the stairs.

Casa Valerio

Good quality Italian food. Service can be hit or miss, but we like the pizzas so we don't mind the odd scowl! Located off the main square. If you are facing the casino with the square at your back, take the right hand road.

Bistrot des Sports

Very French eaterie combined with a bar. Great simple French foods done well, steaks, frites and salads. Very good value set menus. Continue past the main square for about 100 m, opposite SuperU.

Elevation

If you want a bacon sandwich in the morning, this is the place to go. Great breakfast and lunch menu, paninis, burgers and sandwiches. Sit in the sunshine and watch the world go by.

Midnight Express

Brilliant burgers and hot take-away sandwiches. Good prices. Next to Poco Loco on Rue Paccard.

Poco Loco
Cheap and delicious burgers of with classic and unusual toppings. Small place on Rue Paccard, next to Quicksilver. Seating area upstairs.

Nightclubs
Le Choucas

Right on the main street, opposite ‘The Pub’. Very lively at night with live music and dance floor. Open 'til 5am.

The biggest is SuperU which is past the main square on the left hand side of the road. There are a couple of smaller ones called ‘Casino’ along Rue Paccard and near the train station.

Pharmacy

There are a number in the centre of town. Opposite SuperU on the main pedestrian street are friendly and helpful.

Savoy Surrounding Area

If you are staying in our apartments Carlina or Clos du Savoy you are in this area.

This area is only a 2 min walk from the centre of town, so it may be worth looking at the recommendations for that. In your immediate area however, there are a number of places worth noting. Our recommendations are; -

Satsuki

Great Japanese menu offering special lunchtime menu, large sushi selection and noodles. On the left hand side of the road heading into town.

Take Away

Papillon 

Offers a nice and different selection of healthy and world-inspired food, curries, dahls etc Definitely worth a visit.
