You have a number of bars, restaurants and shops on the doorstep dotted around the main Cham Sud Square and just outside.

Restaurants

Jekyll

Excellent pub serving hearty food at reasonable prices restaurant. Great atmosphere – free food for après live music and comedy nights. Just opposite the Cham Sud bus station.

Tetras

Serve French and Italian type food, well priced. Right in Cham Sud next to Monkey Bar.

Monkey Bar

More of a bar, but also has a small bar food menu at good prices.

Alan Peru Noodle Bar

Thai/Asian menu. Just outside Cham Sud, instead of taking a left to go over the bridge to town centre, take a right towards the Aiguille du Midi.

L’Omeletterie

Yes it does have a huge omelette menu! Also serves great quality Savoyard fayre, pizzas and seafood. Very reasonably priced. On the way into town from Cham Sud, over the green bridge and about 10 metres up on the right hand side.

L’Impossible

One of Chamonix best established French restaurants. Pricey but well worth it. Fantastic old renovated building and very cosy. Located next door to the Jekyll.

Fiesta Grande

Good kebabs! Just outside Cham Sud on way to town, opposite the green bridge.

Pizza Hop

Good take away thin crust Pizzas. Opposite Cham Sud bus station.

Pizza Paradiso

Delicious and massive pizzas – great dough! Very friendly staff. Just on the corner by the bridge into town.

Golden Dragon

Chinese restaurant also does take away. Instead of taking bridge into town, take a right and is at the end of that street.

Le Garage

Instead of making a left to cross the bridge to town, take a right. It is on the left hand side of the road. Next to Technique Extreme.

Le Tof

Only for the brave. In Cham Sud Square, towards the Aiguille du Midi side.

SPAR

Supermarket in the square – everything you need.

Pharmacy

There is a good one just opposite the Aiguille du Midi lift (opposite Golden Dragon Chinese restaurant).

Chamonix Town Centre

If you are staying in our apartments Blanc Neige, Armancette, Maison Rose, or Des Alpes you are in this area. The main pedestrian street running through town is called Rue Dr. Paccard.

Soulfood

Tiny and gets very busy but with good reason, great music and the two guys who own it do a great live set!

La Cantina

Down and dirty seasonaire hang-out! Head to SuperU on the main drag, take a left up the little side road just past SuperU.

The Pub

Not cheap, but generally a good crowd - on Rue Dr Paccard.

Chambre Neuf

Half price après ski cocktails – near the train station – good lunch menu.

Bar’d Up

Cheap drinks après-ski – on Rue du Moulins which is just past the main square, take a right immediately after the restaurant ‘Irish Coffee’, down the cobbled street.

Munchies

For a food blow out - excellent fusion type menu French, Swedish and Asian influences. Not cheap but worth it. On Rue du Moulin. To get to there go past the square and take a right at Irish Coffee.

Caleche

Best for traditional Savoyard fare, ie fondue, raclette. Beautiful atmospheric interior. Good selection of set menus. Right on Rue Paccard opposite Midnight Express.

Le Caveau

Takes last orders around 12pm, great pizzas, amazing Garlic Mozzarella bread!! On the left of Chinese restaurant Chez Yang on Rue Paccard near the square. Small entrance, go down the stairs.

La Bergerie

Warm, woody and atmospheric Savoyard restaurant. Open fire.

Casa Valerio

BEST Italian food, a must-go. Brilliant pizzas, carpaccio, bresola, pasta etc. Great service, very well priced. Located off the main square. If you are facing the casino with the square at your back, take the right hand road.

Poco Loco

Cheap and delicious burgers of with classic and unusual toppings. Small place on Rue Paccard, next to Quicksilver. Seating area upstairs.

Bistrot des Sports

Very French eaterie combined with a bar. Great simple French foods done well, steaks, frites and salads. Very good value set menus. Continue past the main square for about 100 m, opposite SuperU.

Elevation

If you want a bacon sandwich in the morning, this is the place to go. Great breakfast and lunch menu, paninis, burgers and sandwiches. Sit in the sunshine and watch the world go by.

Take Away

Midnight Express

Brilliant burgers and hot take-away sandwiches. Good prices. Next to Poco Loco on Rue Paccard.

Mojo’s

Varied and delicious range of Sandwiches. On main square.

Nightclubs

Le Choucas

Right on the main street, opposite ‘The Pub’. Very lively at night with live music and dance floor.

Mix Bar

Super cool London-style cocktail bar with regular DJ’s. It ain’t cheap.

Supermarkets

The biggest is SuperU which is past the main square on the left hand side of the road. There are a couple of smaller ones called ‘Casino’ along Rue Paccard and near the train station.

Pharmacy

There are a number in the centre of town. Opposite SuperU on the main pedestrian street are friendly and helpful.

Savoy Surrounding Area

If you are staying in our apartments Carlina or Clos du Savoy you are in this area.

Places to go…

This area is only a 2 min walk from the centre of town, so it may be worth looking at the recommendations for that. In your immediate area however, there are a number of places worth noting. Our recommendations are; -

The Clubhouse

Posh London type hangout. Fantastic cocktail menu! Located in the Jardin du Mont Blanc area. On Rue Joseph Vallot, head to Boule de Neige hotel and go right at the little side street just before.

Restaurants

Satsuki

Great Japanese menu offering special lunchtime menu, large sushi selection and noodles. On the left hand side of the road heading into town.

The Clubhouse

Also a restaurant, with a good choice of breakfast and dinner options.

Take Away

See Centre of town.

Internet

The Clubhouse has free wifi, just go in and buy a drink.
